Mary Ellen (Brickley) JochimMary Ellen, beloved wife and devoted mother, passed away on November 24, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.Mary Ellen was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1937. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. She attended Tarkio College in Missouri and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. While attending college, she met her husband, Marvin G. Jochim. After graduating, they were married on June 6, 1959.By 1961, they had moved to Denver, Colorado and their first daughter, Stacy was born. Mary Ellen taught school for a period of time, until their second daughter, Wendy was born in 1963. At that time, Mary Ellen was a substitute teacher and a full time wife and mother. Her third daughter, Marvelle was born in 1964 and the family was complete.Mary Ellen devoted her entire life to her husband and three girls. She and the family moved to Rawlins, Wyoming in1973. While residing in Rawlins, Mary Ellen was employed by Robert Jack Smith & Associates, until she joined her husband with the purchase of Allen Insurance. She kept track of the business and Marvin until they retired in 1994.Upon their retirement they moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona to enjoy the warm winters, while spending their summers in Colorado and Texas visiting their daughters and their families.Mary Ellen touched the lives of many individuals. She was a very caring and loving person. The following statement was shared with her family, "Her life has been an unmitigated success because of the things she has done for others that she probably isn't even aware of."Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Marvin G. Jochim; daughter, Stacy Jochim Fritz (Steve) and grandson, Dakota Sky Becker; daughter Wendy Jochim McNaney (Mike) and grandson, Tyler Michael McNaney and granddaughter, Brianna Marie McNaney; daughter, Marvelle Jochim Collins (Ken) and granddaughters Cheyanne Wendy Collins and Reata Gene Collins and grandson, Latigo Jimmy Collins. She is also survived by her sister, June Brickley Mathes.A memorial service will be held in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on December 13, 2010, 11:00 AM at St. Michael's United Methodist Church, 2895 S. Jamaica Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406. A celebration of Mary Ellen's life will be held in Rawlins, Wyoming in July.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hospice of Havasu, P. O.
