Lawrence Evert Barringer, or "Poppy" as he was known to his family and friends, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 5, 2010 at his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Poppy was born March 24, 1922 on the family farm near Laurelville, OH to Alva and Bessie Barringer. He was the tenth of 14 children. He loved to tell stories about life on the farm. Poppy graduated from Gibisonville High School in a graduating class of six students. He married the love of his life, Martha Jane Ball, on December 23, 1943 in the church parsonage in Columbus, OH. They moved to California in 1945 where their only child Dennis was born. Larry worked as an electrician for more than 40 years. Following his retirement in 1986 they moved to Lake Havasu City to be near their son Dennis, his wife Marcia, and grandsons, Damon and Jeff.Poppy's greatest joy was his family and helping others. He could do anything and fix any problem he set his mind to. If he didn't understand how something worked, he would research it at the library and solve the problem.
