Bonnie Jean Cossette, beloved wife, mother, sister, auntie and grandmother passed away on Friday December 10, 2010 with her family by her side after losing her long battle with ovarian cancer, the silent killer. She was born as Bonnie Jean McDowell on January 21, 1940 in Omaha, NE to Merle and Vera (Thomas) McDowell. The family moved to Los Angeles and it was where she met the loved of her life Richard "Sandy" Cossette at the age of 13. They were married on June 21, 1958 at the age of 18 and together they had three beautiful girls, Renee, Colette and Nicole. Bonnie and Sandy moved the family to Lake Havasu City in the summer of 1991 where Bonnie has enjoyed the desert life ever since. She also loved the beautiful lake and all the fun they had with their pontoon boat over the years. The two of them could also be seen coasting down the highway on their bright red trike, Bonnie wearing her leather jacket and relaxing while listening to Rod Stewart. But Bonnie's greatest passion was her children and her incredible grandchildren. When asked if she had a bucket list, her response was "just my family".Bonnie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May 2009 and fought the hardest battle of her life. She helped form OWLS, the ovarian women learning and support; a support group to help other women to empower themselves against this sneaky disease.Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Sandy; daughters Renee Villeli, Colette Bradner and her husband Brian and Nicole Kuch and her husband Dan, as well as her six grandchildren Paul Villelli, Briana Bradner, Jill Villelli, Jeffrey Bradner, Evan Kuch and Emerson Kuch.Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 18, 2010, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the lake Roman Catholic Church with Father Chauncey Winkler offering words of comfort and inspiration. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bonnie's name to the Havasu Community Health Foundation, towards the OWLS at 2126 McCulloch Blvd, Unit 7, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
