Onell Gerald "Ace" Simon passed away on Monday December 20, 2010 at his residence in Lake Havasu City at the age of 88. Ace, as he was known to his family and friends was born on January 9, 1922 to Joseph and Elmira (Murry) Simon in Lutcher, Louisiana.Ace worked for 45 years as a Boiler Maker for the Steel Workers Union. Prior to his career in the steel industry, Ace proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II from May 22, 1943 to January 15, 1946.Ace and his wife Ila made Lake Havasu City their home 22 years ago moving here from Olympia, Washington. Among his hobbies were playing pool and he would go the Senior Center to shoot pool with his buddies. He got the most enjoyment out of spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and their families.Ace is survived by his daughter Jan Garver and her husband Robert of Lake Havasu City, sister Mary Stevenson of Washington; sister in law Marie Hymel of Louisiana; grandchildren Ken Dukes and his wife Tammi; John Dukes and his wife Johannah and Judy Simon; Great grandchildren Cassie, Nikki, Lauren, Cameron, Tommy, Corey, John Jr., Alicia, Devon, Isaiah, Eli and Joshua and great great grandchild Kyndall.He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ila who passed away on April 12, 2010; son Gerald Simon and granddaughter Juanita Brown.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
