Fred Lustenberger passed away January 27, 2011 at his Lake Havasu home while vacationing from New Hampshire. He was born Wilfred E. Lustenberger on December 12, 1943, to John J. & Rita M. Lustenberger in Methuen, MA. Fred was educated in the Methuen, MA schools and graduated from Tenney High in 1961. In 1966 he graduated from Hawthorne College in Antrim, NH, where he remained and worked in various administrative capacities until 1981. He also managed the former Sunderland's Hardware Store in Peterborough, NH, for several years. After leaving the store he worked for Wayne Green Enterprises of Peterborough, NH, as Facilities Director until his retirement. Fred was, at one time, a New Hampshire certified, part time Police Officer. He first worked for the Hillsborough, NH Police Department, then worked for the Hancock, NH Police Department for many years under then, Chief Edward Coughlin. He was also a member of Antrim, NH, Co. #2 Fire department and Hancock Fire department for many years. Fred's interests were hunting and fishing and he was a life member of the North American hunting club and a member of the NRA. Fred is predeceased by his mother, Rita, and father, John. He is survived by his wife, Carol of 46 years, and 2 sons, Scott, of Stoddard, NH, and David and his wife Theresa of Barnegat, NJ; 6 grandchildren; a couple of good friends and many acquaintances. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a foundation that enables kids to go on a hunting trip in New Hampshire. www.huntofalifetime.orgDate and time of services at Jellison's Funeral Home in Peterborough, NH, will be announced at a later date.
