Wendell Lee (Fuzzy) Anderson passed away at age 89 on January 29, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona from complications due to heart disease. He passed peacefully, at home surrounded by his family. Fuzzy was born on July 8, 1921 in Pea Ridge, Arkansas to Jesse and Estha Anderson.He was the oldest of three children, with brother Darrell and sister Margaret. Fuzzy graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California in 1939. He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Takanis Bay during World War II, with rank Machinist's Mate Third Class. On February 17, 1945, Fuzzy married Vera (Vi) Goree in Maywood, California. He worked for the Norwalk La Mirada Unified School district as a shop foreman in the automotive department until retiring in 1980. In 1992, Fuzzy and Vi moved to Lake Havasu City, where they became members of the Relics & Rods car club. Fuzzy spent his whole life around cars, racing stock cars in his younger days and restoring classics after his retirement. In addition to his skills as a mechanic, Fuzzy was also adept at woodworking, building everything from frames to furniture. Fuzzy is survived by his wife of 65 years Vi Anderson; son Lee and his wife Margie Anderson; their daughters Jenny and Jody Anderson; son Richard and his wife Irene Anderson; their daughters Kayla and Alisa Anderson, and sister Margaret Goree. He is predeceased by his brother Darrell Anderson. A memorial will be held Saturday, February 5 at 12:00pm at Hilltop Community Church, 3180 N. McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City.
