Joy Josephine Valdez passed away on February 2, 2011 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 83. Joy was born on June 28, 1927 in Montrose, Colorado to Edward and Alice (Miller) Martinez.Joy moved to Lake Havasu City 6 years ago from Everett, Washington where she worked for the Boeing Corporation. She enjoyed playing Bingo but her greatest joy was her family.Joy is survived by her son Gilbert Lee Valdez and his wife Jonna of Lake Stevens, Washington, Daughters Judith Ann Brogan of Lake Havasu City; Cynthia Loyola House and her husband Jerry, of Okanogan, Washington and Beverly Jean Nichols and her husband Randy of Moses Lake, Washington; sister Dolores Trujillo of El Rito, New Mexico; grandchildren Keith Brogan, Rebecca Miller, LeAnn Brogan, Joyce Alling, Abelino Valdez, Kristi Alemazkour, Dawn Sandhop, Michael Valdez, Billi Merrick and Carrie Valdez, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Alice, husband Abelino C Valdez, brothers George, Edward and Wayne Martinez and sister Gladys Trujillo.
