Gerald Louis Degelbeck, 82, passed away on December 6, 2015 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to Ormond and Velma Degelbeck on July 12, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. He was wed to Gretchen May Gugel on March 11, 1953 in Vassar, Michigan; they were married for 62 years. Gerald enjoyed golf, baseball, traveling and hanging out with family and friends. He played on the Marlette High School 1951 State Class "C" Runner-up Basketball Team. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marlette, MI, past president of the Marlette Lions Club from 1964 to 1965, and a member of Eagles, Elks, American Legion, Moose, as well as Co-chair of the Marlette Centennial Committee in 1962. He was a U.S. Army Corporal from 1953 to 1955. He was a licensed ANA U.S. Coin Grader and an active member of the Lake Havasu City Coin and Stamp Club. He and Gretchen have traveled all over the world. Gerald is survived by his wife, Gretchen Degelbeck of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sons, Richard Degelbeck (Doris) of Sandusky, MI, Steven Degelbeck of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Judy Allen of Whitmore Lake, MI, Patricia Brady (Mike) of Corona, CA; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Velma (Wagner) Degelbeck and Ormond Degelbeck; sister-in-law, Patricia (Gugel) Yarbrough and brother-in-law, Phillip Gugel. Donations may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, PO Box 300, Chamberlain, SD 57325, or Hospice of Havasu. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
