CARL E. JOHNSONOct.13, 1924 - March 17, 2011Carl Edward Johnson of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Sidney, NE died March 17, 2011 at the age of 86.Carl, son of Russell and Kathryn Johnson, was born in Simpson, KS. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and proudly served as a B24 navigator flying out of England and Italy.After serving his country Carl completed his formal education at Kansas State University. He was a respected and successful businessman who owned and operated the J & M Trucking Company for over 20 years.On June 10, 1944 he married Pauline Martin who survives. He also leaves son Michael (Suzanne) of Leucadia, CA, daughter Mary Lou (Lee) of Cary, NC, son Jim of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Karen of Aurora, CO, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister Shirley Reser of Hutchinson, KS and brothers Ross (Jane) of Bella Vista, AR and Jerry (Beth) of Beloit, KS.Besides his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy and his brothers James and Olin.A memorial service will be held at a later date in Glasco, KS.Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Carl's family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
