William A. Burnidge June 11, 1931 - February 25, 2014 William Brunidge born to Samuel and Wilna Burnidge in Midwest Wyoming, passed away in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on 02/25/14. Bill's early years were taken up traveling with his parents in search of work during the Depression. Finally settling in San Diego, CA in 1944. Bill graduated high school in 1949.In 1948 he joined the Navel Air Reserves on active training at Los Alamitos Naval Air Station. In 1951 Bill joined the USAF, serving 4 years, including 1 year in Korea and 1 year at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. attaining rank of staff Sergeant. After his Honorable discharge, Bill fulfilled his dream being hired by the Los Angeles Fire Dept. in Dec.1955 proudly serving as a firefighter, Captain and Captain ll for 31 years. In 1961 he was awarded the Medal of Valor for bravery. Bill served as a V.P. as well as a President of the fireman's Relief Association 1982 - 1985. Bill retired in 1987.Bill married Patricia Johnson in 1954, settling in Los Angeles. They had 4 daughters, Jacqueline, Charlene, Debra, Sherrie. Pat passed in 1985 from Multiple Sclerosis. Bill's second wife passed in 1999 from Breast Cancer. Bill moved to Lake Havasu City in 1999, were he became active in Elks and Desert Singles there he met Antoinette Holmes, in April 2008 they were married in Maui, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Holt. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Howery, his wife Toni, 4 daughters and 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
