Francis Wessel Poenie passed away April 7, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 84. He was born to Bernard and Francina (Tapking) Poenie on December 19, 1926.Fran as he was known to his family and friends served proudly under the direction of the United States Navy. On December 2, 1950 he married Diane Seymour and together they made Lake Havasu their home 21 years ago from Pleasanton, CA. He worked for Rocketdyne and Xerox. Fran loved to fish and go out on his boat. He could do anything; there wasn't anything he couldn't figure out or fix.Fran leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years Diane Poenie; son Martin Poenie; daughters Cynthia Bower and Susie Delaney; brother Ben Poenie; nieces Sandy Brett and Karen Corcoran and two grandchildren Jimmy and Katie Delaney.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ray Poenie and sister Marion Myss.Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 11:00 AM at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Pastor Chris Blythe will offer words of comfort and inspiration.
