Gene Edward Snyder went to be with his Lord on April 21, 2011. He left this earth peacefully, at home, with his wife Beverly at his side. Gene was the first son of Gene Snyder, St and Anna (Van Dalen) Snyder. He was born in Seattle, Washington on April 11, 1930 and had just celebrated his 81st birthday.Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Korean War. He was stationed in Mannheim, Germany, serving as a Chaplain's Assistant. Upon returning from active duty he met Beverly Jean Graham. They were married on Friday the 13th of August 1954.Gene retired from his job as an Insurance Inspector with Equifax Services in 1986. Gene and Beverly loved to travel and for many years had been "RV ers". Once retired they spent the next 5 ½ years traveling the United States in their 5th wheel. Many historical sites were visited and many good memories made. After passing through Lake Havasu City Arizona a number of times they settled there permanently in 1991.Gene was a member of Calvary Temple in Seattle Washington (now Calvary Christian Center) from 1947 to 1991. Gene served several terms on the board and also sang in the choir. He and his wife volunteered as head cooks for the Summer Youth camps of Calvary Temple. Upon moving to Lake Havasu City he became a member of Stonebridge Christian Fellowship serving many years as an Elder but resigning that position due to health in January 2011. Gene loved music. He played the organ at home and as the church organist until suffering a stroke in 2001.Gene leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Beverly of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Ruthann Gale of Las Vegas, Nevada, Carole Stademan (Sean) of Kirkland, Washington; four grandchildren;two great grandchildren; brothers, David Snyder (Beverly) of Seattle, Washington and William Snyder (Cookie) of Monroe, Washington; sister, Lenore Hobson (Carl) of Woodenville, Washington and many friendsA celebration of Gene's life will be held on Tuesday April 26, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Stonebridge Christian Fellowship, 2700 Jamaica Ave S, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
