Obituary of Diana Hegelmeyer
Please share a memory of Diana to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Diana Hegelmeyer passed away on February 25, 2014 after a hard fought battle with Cancer. She was born in the Boston area to Lucy and Fontas Georgiades on March 20, 1935. Diana and her late husband John retired to Lake Havasu City more than 20 years ago.
Diana was active in the community and enjoyed all Lake Havasu City had to offer. She enjoyed volunteering, bowling, bocci and of course the lake. Her primary responsibility/passion in life was her family. To her family, she was known as Honey, Mom, Nana, and more recently Mana, (to her great grandchildren).
Diana will be missed by her four children and their families: Terri and her husband Tracy Halbash of Phoenix, AZ, John Hegelmeyer of Los Angeles, CA, David and his wife Michelle Hegelmeyer of Crescent City, CA and Judy and her husband Eliot Hewitt of Tehachapi, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren (Christine, Leann, Chad, Zachary, Jessica and Jacob) four great grandchildren (Ethan, Mia, Gage and Zoe) and two sisters, Lanie Georgiades and Barbara Georgiades.
Diana had an unparalleled zest for life and a unique sense of humor. She enjoyed life, whether it be hitting a Royal Flush in Laughlin, spending time with friends and family, or sky diving at the age of 75.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in the Chapel on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Kathy Kenney offering words of comfort.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mayo Clinic of Phoenix, or Hospice of the Valley, Sherman House (HOV.org).
