William Irwin Stech passed away May 29, 2011 in Blythe, CA. He was born to Irwin and Lucille (Hellwig) Stech on August 14, 1935 in Kalamazoo, MI. Bill served proudly under the direction of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict for 8 years. He worked on the Belleville, MI Police Department and the L.A. County Sheriff's. He was also in the auto business for 35 years. Bill was an avid off-road race car driver. He crewed for his nephew Craig in off-shore boat racing. Bill was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks, Yacht Club, Eagles and the Outcasts. One of his true loves was the Colorado River. He enjoyed boating, riding his Harley and being with his friends and family. He was known as Uncle Bill to many and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife, Amelia Carlson-Stech; four daughters, Terry Lynn McClintock, Laura Reinemann, Jacque Blower, all of Lake Havasu and Patty Ahrens of Oxnard, CA; sisters, Luanne Devine and Deanne Schiller; four grandsons; five granddaughters; one great grandson on the way and niece, Diane (Craig) Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents Irwin and Lucille Stech and son, Billy Stech. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011, 9:00 AM, followed by the Scripture Services, 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. The VFW Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81 will offer full military honors at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at the BPOE Lodge 2399. The family has requested donations to go in Bill's memory to the American Heart Association of Lake Havasu, PO Box 1410, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
