Georgia Mary McBride, 85, passed away at the Polidori House on March 7, 2016. She was born in Ruston, Louisiana on December 28, 1930 to Col. Walton E. McBride and Mary Ragan McBride. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana as an art major in 1952 and attended Parsons School of Design in New York City.
She worked in the textile industry in New York and was employed as an art director in the manufacture of home furnishings until she retired in the 1980's. In 1999 she moved to Lake Havasu City to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Tom Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, two nieces and a nephew. In addition to Kathy Cox, she is survived by her nephew, Thomas Walton Jones of Lake Havasu City, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and three great-great's, with two more on the way.
She was a generous and devoted sister and aunt. She delighted in her family, the arts, travel, reading, nature and gardening. She was a quiet and gentle soul and will be missed.
Arrangements were provided by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank Havasu Regional Medical Center — both the emergency room and 3rd floor— as well as Hospice of Havasu and the Polidori House for their compassion and care.
