Ida Maye Anthony Hupp, known by her friends and family as Toni, earned her wings on Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was born in Parsons, KS, on June 30, 1927. She is survived by her husband Charley Hupp: her three children, Leslie Rhyner, Schuyler Hupp and Valerie Glimp (son-in-law, Dr. Tom Glimp): and her four grandchildren, Alexis Rhyner; Jackie Glimp (husband Zach Steiner), Madison Glimp and Maggie Glimp.
Toni, a resident of Kingman for 15 years, was an active and prominent member of the community and a natural leader. Everywhere she lived she found ways to serve others. Toni was honorary regent of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution-Lewis Kingman Chapter. She helped to send more than 600 care packages to service members overseas, served as president of the Computer Club in Colorado Springs, and along with her husband founded the Boys Youth Ice Hockey Association in Dallas, Texas, in 1970, which is still active today.
She was president of the Republican Women's Club in Denton County, Texas, volunteer coordinator and office manager for U.S. Senator Phil Crane of Illinois. Girl Scout board member and troop leader and founded the genealogical section at the Winnetka Public Library in Illinois. He love of history led her to a career of genealogy that spanned more than 40 years. There are many additional accomplishments listed on Toni's husband's website, which is charleyh-upp.com.
A celebration of life is planned for January and will take place in Kingman. Details well be released at a later date.
