Valentine William Dawes Harris
December 26, 1933 – May 1, 2021
Valentine (Val) William Dawes Harris passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born December 26, 1933 to Oliver Frank Harris and Ida Constance Fowler Harris in Nephi, Utah. He was married to his wife Alma Rheta Blackham Harris for 67 years, for time and all eternity.
Val worked in Nephi Turkey Processing Plant and The Themoid Rubber Plant.
After his first child was born, he decided to move his family to Long Beach, California where he worked for Ford Motor Company, then eventually at Mobil Oil Company, where he was a pipe fitter. He went to school at El Camino College to achieve his Electrical Degree and became the Supervisor of the electrical shop. He managed that until he retired after 35 years of service. He could do anything, put in sprinkler systems, painting and gardening.
Everyone that met him loved him.
He is survived by his daughters, Valdee David, Pam Tarter, Paula Romero and Penny Thomas, his nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alma Rheta Harris and his children, William Dawes Harris and Pat Curfman.
He will always be in our hearts and be greatly missed.
