Having a funeral could be a costly endeavour, especially if you opt for bespoke arrangements. There is a lot of misunderstanding about how funeral/cremation pricing is calculated. We at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home have found that many of our clients purchase extra services they may not require.

Facts About Funeral/Cremation Pricing

We're here to give you some pointers if you need help figuring out how much something will cost. The following are examples of possible inclusions:

1. Charges For Basic Services

A funeral director should be paid for their services. It applies to both indirect and direct expenditures. While funeral homes may have different policies and procedures, you can discuss your wishes and get a price quote from a professional before making any final decisions. The following are examples of what the basic package would entail:

  • Putting together the paperwork
  • Obtaining any required licenses
  • Securing official copies of the death certificate
  • Preservation of the remains
  • Fixed expenses
  • Assisting funeral homes, crematoriums, and other businesses in working together

These standard costs are subject to change depending on whether the client requests that the funeral home be responsible for sending or obtaining the remains of their loved one.

2. Additional Services

You are not obligated to use any of the extra services offered by the funeral home, but you are free to do so if you choose. You'll need the basic package if you want a basic service with no extra extras. A few examples of these choices are:

  • A memorial service or viewing can be held
  • Use a limousine or a hearse
  • Containers for cremated remains, including urns and caskets, and final resting places
  • Embalming
  • Clothing for the deceased

Even though they aren't required, the funeral home offers these extras to their clients. Despite the availability of alternative service providers, having a funeral home handle these matters is still preferable. Third-party services like using a cemetery, hiring a minister or celebrant, hiring musicians, or ordering flowers would all necessitate cash in advance.

If you want to preplan a funeral, contact Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, and we will call you back to discuss your requirements.
