The concept of preplanning a funeral is not easy to talk about. There is some hesitation when it comes to talking about it and discussing what it involves.

Misconceptions About Preplanning

Here at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, we believe it’s necessary that our clients have complete information about what this service involves. In this blog, we will discuss five common misconceptions about pre-planning your funeral.

1. Pre-planning isn’t easy for your family

This is quite a common misconception and far from the truth. Of course, your family will not like to consider the idea of your death. However, when you discuss your preference with them and tell them the objective of preplanning, they will realize it is not as bad as it seems.

2. Pre-planning is highly complicated

The process of preplanning a funeral is simple. You only need to contact the funeral home of your choice, discuss your requirements and preferences with the funeral director, and get their input. Understand which services they offer and select the ones you want.

3. It can be expensive to preplan

When a person passes away, the family has to spend money on the arrangements, which can be financially unviable for some. On the other hand, when you pre plan, you pay for everything in advance and it is mentioned in the contract. This makes organizing the service less stressful and easier on the pocket for your family.

4. The cost of preplanning a funeral can increase over time

This is incorrect, Once you sign the contract, the price is locked in and does not get impacted by anything including inflation.

5. The service choices are limited when you preplan

The services that you can opt for are the same as the ones the home would offer you when you organize a service for someone that has passed.
