Modern Ways To Memorialize A Loved One
It is a complicated situation to mourn the death in your family or friend. While it is necessary to share your sorrow and reverence, many people find it appropriate to celebrate the life and remembrance of the deceased. This also allows them to accept the situation in a different manner. We at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home have some ideas to help you remember your dear one:
Memorabilia
Most families are eager to have memorabilia for their loved ones who have passed away. This may involve something close to the individual paying tribute to their life. It may be a musical instrument, a favorite album of their songs, or a personal diary. You may also make memorabilia with their ashes, instead of keeping them in an urn (in case the person has been cremated.) Jewelry may be made, such as pendants and bracelets.
Create A Memory Wall
You can create a montage by involving all the individuals who are nearest to the deceased. This would make the whole act of honoring a person's life a collective endeavor. You can do this either by making a film or by setting up a memorial wall at a funeral. Ask for visual or tangible images of the person to create a collage. People will pen their feelings and thoughts with it, too.
Plant a Tree
People grow flowers in remembrance of their loved ones that have passed. You should plant their favorite flowers or tree in your yard or garden. Most people bury their loved one's ashes in that spot before planting it. This is a way of celebrate the memories of the person and help you feel their warmth at home. Some put other memorabilia along with the plants, to honor the person more.
