If you are in charge of organizing a funeral service for a family member, choosing the right songs can be quite challenging. You want something that won’t be noticeable or offensive to anyone, yet want it to be soothing and something that will offer comfort to the people that are attending the funeral service. Many people spend a considerable amount of time agonizing over which songs would work best at the funeral they are planning. Here are some things to keep in view:

1. Take the preferences and the personality of the deceased person into account

If you want to lend a very personal and unique touch to the funeral, pick songs that complement the decedent’s personality. Look for songs and music that you knew the person enjoyed listening to and use those at the service. Even while doing so, don’t play something that may be excessively jangling to the nerves.

2. Focus on the lyrics

You can also choose songs that have good lyrics to them. Some songs may have very explicit or offensive lyrics and those are the ones you need to steer clear of for a funeral service. You don’t want to offend the attendees at the service when they are grieving.

3. You can’t go wrong with classical instrumental

If you are having a tough time deciding which songs would work best at the funeral service, opt for instrumental music. Choose something elegant and soothing; classical instrumental music is a safe choice and there are a large number of renowned composers to choose from.
